Initiatives to Achieve Carbon Neutrality
Initiatives to Achieve Carbon Neutrality
To achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, we aim to reduce our non-consolidated CO2 emissions by 5% from the FY2020 level by FY2024 and 30% from the FY2020 level by FY2030.
We will try to achieve our reduction targets ahead of schedule through measures including the replacement of facilities planned in the future and the use of power for FIT business (solar power generation) for in-house consumption, expand sales of products which contribute to CO2 reduction on the lifecycle assessment basis (PALLUCID and PULS), and take other initiatives, thus contributing to making the global environment sustainable.
Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reduction Target
Achieving carbon neutrality by FY2050
Reducing CO2 emissions(*1) by 30% (from the FY2020 level) by 2030
(*1) CO2 emissions per unit of sales (Scope 1 and 2)
Initiatives to Achieve Targets
We will take the following three measures to reduce CO2 emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 30% from the FY2020 level by FY2030.
- Improving the efficiency of facilities and equipment and streamlining operating methods and processes
Steady/front-loaded implementation of existing measures for complying with the Act on Rationalizing Energy Use (reducing energy consumption intensity by at least 1% on annual average) - Expanding the use of electricity derived from renewable energy sources
Shifting to renewable energy-based power, switching from power sales business to the use of the generated power for in-house consumption, and introducing a PPA model - Using carbon offsetting methods
Purchasing J-Credit and renewable energy certificates using the carbon emissions trading system.
