現在の仕事内容について
油性製品技術センターでは、お客さまのニーズに基づいた製品の開発、既存製品の改良をおこなっています。私が所属する油性製品技術センターでは、防錆油、防錆ワックスを取り扱っており、私は主にワックスの製品開発・改良に携わっています。お客さまから要望があれば、提供された情報を元に新規の製品開発を行うことや、類似の既存製品があった場合には、用途に合わせて性能を変えるための試験をしています。例えば、お客さまから「もっと高温で使える製品が欲しい」という要望があれば、性能条件を変えて効率を上げる方法を探ります。このように、お客さまが抱えている問題の原因を考え、技術的な解決策を提示することが私たちの役割です。
关于现在的工作内容
油基产品技术中心根据客户需求开发产品并改进现有产品。我所属的油基产品技术中心处理防锈油和防锈蜡，我主要参与蜡产品的开发和改进。如果有客户提出要求，我就根据提供的信息开发新产品，或者如果有类似的现有产品，我就进行测试，改变其性能以符合用途。例如，如果客户要求一个可以在更高温度下使用的产品，我们就会寻找通过改变性能条件来提高效率的方法。通过这种方式，我们的作用是考虑客户问题的原因，并提供技术解决方案。
My job duties
The Oil-based Products Technical Center develops products based on customer needs and improves existing products. It handles rust preventive oils and waxes, and I am mainly involved in the development and improvement of wax products. When we receive requests from customers, we develop new products based on the information provided, and when there are similar existing products, we conduct experiments to tailor their performance to suit the needs of the customers. For example, if a customer asks for a product that can be used at higher temperatures, we look for ways to enhance their efficiency by changing performance conditions. In this way, our role is to provide technical solutions by examining the causes of customers’ problems.
仕事のやりがいについて
日頃試験をおこなう中で、失敗に直面することも多々あるのですが、その際に一連の問題解決プロセスを経て、試験が成功した際は、達成感や満足感を味わうことができます。試験や性能評価に関する知識や理論など、日々新しいことを学ぶ機会が多く、ここで学んだことを自分なりに仕事で活用できるのも、やりがいの一つにつながっています。また、私たちの製品が実際にさまざまな車のボディに使われ、人々の暮らしに役立っていることも、車好きの私としてはうれしく思っています。
关于工作的价值
在日常测试过程中，我经常面临失败，但当我经历了一系列解决问题的过程，测试成功时，就会感到一种成就与满足感。我每天都有很多机会学习新的东西，比如与测试和绩效评估有关的知识和理论等，而最有意义的一点是，我可以在工作中以自己的方式使用我所学到的知识。作为一个汽车爱好者，我也很高兴知道我们的产品实际上被用于各种车辆的车身，为人们的日常生活作出贡献。
What makes me satisfied at my job
Although the experiments I do daily often do not succeed, when one is successful after going through a series of problem-solving processes, I feel a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. I have many opportunities to learn new things every day, such as knowledge and theories related to experiments and performance evaluations, and one of the most rewarding aspects of my job is that I can use what I learn here and apply them in my own way. As a car enthusiast, I am also happy to know that our products are used in various vehicles and contribute to people's daily lives.
当社のここが好き
社内の雰囲気と人間関係が好きです。上司部下の関係を感じることが少なく、目上の同僚とも雑談など業務外のコミュニケーションもあり、接しやすいと感じます。周りの同僚は皆優しく、問題がある時は親身になって相談に乗ってくれます。日本企業の上司はとても厳しいという偏見がシンガポールではあるので、良い意味でもカルチャーショックを受けました。また、休みが取りにくいという雰囲気もないので、ワークライフバランスが整っていると思います。
喜欢本公司的地方
我喜欢公司内部的氛围和人际关系。在新加坡，多数人都会有一种偏见，认为日本公司的老板非常严格。可是加入公司后，我发觉事实和我想像中的不同。这里的上司与下属的关系比较随和，可以与上司聊与工作无关的事情，这样就更容易了解他们了。我周围的同事都很和善，在我遇到问题时都会给予帮助。另外，这里没有很难请假的氛围，所以我认为工作和生活之间有很好的平衡。
What I like about this company
I like the atmosphere and personal relationships within the company. There is not really a sense of boss-subordinate relationships, and I feel comfortable because I can talk casually even about things that are unrelated to work with my coworkers. My coworkers are all kind and helpful when I have problems too. In Singapore, the impression is that bosses at Japanese companies are very strict, so I was quite surprised in a positive way when I joined the company. Moreover, I think that it is easy to take leave here and there are also flexible working hours that promote a work-life balance, which I think is healthy for both the body and the mind.

T.J.Hさんに対する印象は「前向きで物おじしない」です。われわれの部署では主に防錆油や車体防錆WAXを扱っており、仕事の中で多くの専門用語が日本語で飛び交います。日本語でのやり取りに苦労や不安も多いはずですが、T.J.Hさんは必ず理解できるまで議論を続けます。その前向きで物おじしない性格のおかげで着実に力量を上げていると日々感じています。
プライベートでもさまざまな土地へ旅行をしたり、日本に来てすぐに購入した車を自分でメンテナンスしたりするなど、異文化交流や新しい経験を積み、楽しんでいるようです。私たちの生活や会社を取り巻く環境や価値観は目まぐるしい変化を続けていますが、その中でこそ、彼のような人財が力を発揮する場面は増え続けると思います。今後、より一層の活躍を期待しています。

My impression of T.J.H. is that he is positive and not afraid of things coming his way. Our department mainly deals with rust preventive oils and car body rust preventive waxes, and there are many technical terms used here in Japanese during work. Despite the difficulty and anxiety he surely feels when communicating in Japanese, T.J.H. always tries to ask questions until he understands. Thanks to his positive attitude and fearless nature, I feel that his abilities are steadily improving every day. In his private life, T.J.H. seems to enjoy cross-cultural exchanges and gaining new experiences, such as traveling to various places and doing his own maintenance on the car he purchased soon after arriving in Japan. I believe that someone like T.J.H. will be able to excel especially at a time when the environment and values of our lives and company are everchanging. I look forward to seeing him succeed even more in the future.
